For some reason, this reminds me of https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2howud

The computer is the most remarkable tool that we've ever come up with. Yet the modern computer is the equivalent of a bicycle with stabilisers: the added support might be nice for children, but comes at the cost of agility and manoeuvrability. Do we really need the PC to become another device used exclusively for entertainment?

Funnily enough, I got a warning telling me uBlock prevented this page from loading...

By that logic, wouldn't any company inventing/developing a new technology be forming a monopoly?

Yes.

How exactly do you arrive at this conclusion?

Fortunately, Flash is not a limit for ZomboCom: https://html5zombo.com/

I don't think any VC would like to be attached to the app if the author were to be committing fraud under the FTC Act. Not only are the app reviews suspicious, but the testimonial pictures[0] are definitely faked.

I thought this unlikely but doing a quick look

This:

https://reductress.com/post/the-best-haircuts-for-what-youve...

is very close to the person (Sonya) on get bright's testimonials.

https://getbright.app/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/testimonial...

It could be the same Sonya just doing other things (hair shots etc) of course so not certain they are fake testimonial photos but certainly weird.

The one you found is the most ambiguous, since there's no background in the (cleverly) cropped testimonial photo, but Google Images turned up pictures for every single testimonial[0,1,2,3]. The timestamps from these websites go severy years back, as well. [0] https://www.stclairdentist.com.au/smile-makeover/ [1] https://www.dmdentalgroup.com/articles/professional-teeth-wh... He does have a GitHub account[0]. He successfully founded his own company. Entries from his blog also made the frontpage on HN several times[1].

You, on the other hand, do not have a GitHub account tied to your HN account, or any other records of your achievements, for that matter. You also don't seem to have made any meaningful contributions. But people still took the time to read this comment.

The author's history of contributing to OSS projects shouldn't be relevant here. You shouldn't use it to attack his claims. If someone wants to read the article, they can read/evaluate it based on their personal opinions/knowledge.

P.S.: No, I'm not the user registered with GitHub as PaulChap.

I couldn't find anything corroborating this claim, and the entry seems to be removed from Wikipedia for lack of source, so is this really true?

We get this every time. The wheels of official announcements grind exceedingly slowly. Feel free to reserve judgement until you see it on Wikipedia. I went through the same clog dance with Berlekamp, Guy, and Conway.

There have been no official announcements in print that Wikipedia are willing to accept as definitive. I've got my information from professional research mathematicians who have worked in related areas, and knew him well.

I heard the news this morning from a close friend who I know to be a close friend of Ron Graham’s wife. I was pretty upset (still trying to grapple with him being almost 85!) and I wanted to see if there was another announcement, so I went over to Wikipedia and saw that it hadn’t been updated so I plopped over and added it. For my effort I get this screeching achtung warning sign accusing me of vandalism. I tried clearing it a couple times and an “editor” comes back and adds it again. What a bunch of jerks.

I guess now would be a good time to recommend 'Permutation City' by Greg Egan... Great book!
