Let's say a recession is in the future (12-24 months), what should the average person's position be? Transition to even longer-term investments?

Yeah, same boat. I'm a pretty naive investor and through my 401k have about 50% of my net worth invested in index funds with the other 50% in cash. Are there simple strategies to limit exposure other than "sell everything"?

These companies are all just spokes on the wheel, keeps on spinning.

Curated lists are nice but what makes this list "awesome"? Some background or bullet points would be nice to convince a reader to pick any of them up.

I suspect a modern fad of using inappropriately effusive adjectives to hype mundane programming stuff.

This is a rockstar comment.

“Awesome” lists are apparently A Thing on GitHub (1). I’ve been seeing them roll through pretty regularly.

Unless the title been has changed since you posted your comment, it is a list of "awesome books", not an "awesome list" of books. But, I agree, to make the list useful, there really needs to be some explanation as to why the book is awesome.

I actually enjoy almost 80-90% of my job. This is my first job coming out of Graduate School, and it blends enough tech with engineering that it is both refreshing and challenging.

Can you share more about your role?

Wow, this is really sweet. Can't wait to use it in my next project.
