I am looking for interesting development work involving primarily server applications. I don't dislike front-end development, I just enjoy writing server applications more. I am very interested and enthusiastic about automated build and deployment processes. I enjoy functional programming, git, linux and automation.

I use that one all the time! Also, :sp . which splits your window and opens the directory listing in a new buffer.

Vagrant VMs are headless. So when you 'vagrant up' a box you won't see a GUI window or anything you'd expect to see when launching VMs with VirtualBox.

I have a deck of flashcards in Anki to help learn vim bindings in a way similar to what you're looking for.

The flashcards are designed so the front is a description of some operation (ex. "motion cursor to end of the line" or "backward find word under cursor") and the back is the key combo to make that operation happen.

It works really well for me and I've noticed a huge improvement to my productivity in vim. If you're interested: https://github.com/MrPants888/vim_flashcards

What a small world! Never would have expected to find another AHL fan here. The map-making community for that game was absolutely amazing. There was a server than ran a a neat event around Halloween, AHL-loween, where they had a special Halloween-themed map rotation. So much fun.

I don't think that those of us who support teachers having firearms necessarily believe that every (or even most) teachers should have a firearm or be issued a firearm. I believe that carrying a firearm is a very personal choice and a very serious decision for an individual to make.

There currently exist laws that forbid law-abiding concealed carry permit holders from carrying firearms on school grounds. This law does not prevent dangerous people from bringing weapons into these zones and committing atrocities. Instead, I think we should really be encouraging teachers to make the commitment to go through the training process required for them to get their concealed handgun licenses and to regularly train to maintain safe gun-carrying habits. Perhaps teachers could receive some sort of compensation for having a concealed handgun license and engaging in regular firearms safety training.

I am sure that during the excruciatingly terrible events that took place in Newtown some teachers wished they had the means to defend the children and themselves. We should let teachers that want to legally and safely carry instruments of defense to do so. We shouldn't have laws that guarantee defenseless victims.

I agree with you but I also believe that it goes further than current Christmas culture.
