https://www.phacks.dev/articles I blog about web development; mostly about performance, JavaScript, and Ruby on Rails.

OP here, happy to chat about the setup and how we use it if anyone’s curious!

Fair point! I’m not much aware of the container space, which explains the overlap. I’ll consider finding another name (which is quite hard since I got used to Falco by now).

I thought this was it, as well. How about falk? Which is the norse name for falcon...

See if "Der Kommissar" is taken. :)

Just change it to Falko

Would you please remove the weird "emoticon key" thing at the bottom? You could almost certainly fit single-letter keywords (the values of the emoticons) in similar space, without forcing everyone to go to a new page and cross-reference. I guessed computer meant programming, and that the palette represented art, but couldn't figure the rest out. There's no point in using short symbols everyone knows.

Each one shows what they represent when you hover.

It is indeed! Thanks for pointing it out, just added it to the post.

OP here, I’ve updated the article to include that new information (wasn’t there earlier). Thanks!

Looks like an anticipated weekend for French developers !

I'm confused, what?

It's 4pm in europe. And the french are known to work very little. So now's about the time when they leave for the weekend.

> And the french are known to work very little

What are you talking about? In France unpaid extra hours is the usual thing if you work in an office even if you are paid hourly. What you say is absolutely not true in the private sector.

On the contrary , since it is our nationaly day in 4 days, french people need to work even harder today to make up for it.

I think it's more to do with the Quatorze Juillet French national holiday this Tuesday, which gives a lot of French people a long weekend.

It's not ok to attack a group of people like that on HN. Please don't do this again.

Such a shame that Capitaine Train is not present in this list. They have an excellent product (with an amazing UX), solving a real problem (ordering train tickets online used to be a pain in the arse) and with a vision (unifying the European railway).

I just learned that AOL was still alive.

If you'd like to read more, I highly recommend "Perfect Rigour: A Genius and the Mathematical Breakthrough of the Century" by Masha Gessen. I mainly refered to this book while writing this article.

Author speaking, I corrected those typos, thanks. I'm French, hence the quite frequent mistakes. As for the "'s" thingy, I did laugh out loud on your comment.

Now I feel like a huge grouch. Thanks for taking it well.
