I have a hunch that if Google actually wanted to fix the issue, they could afford to pay enough people enough money to find a solution.

In the meantime, they're doing this.

I mean... even Apple uses manual reviewers. If Google wanted to address this problem, they would have.

(And no saying that App Store reviews are perfect by any stretch)

I've seen numerous ads for Peleton; I have no idea what Concept 2 is, much less some ad on YC for yet another YC product I'm not going to buy.

In addition, I've seen at least one New York Times article (each) wringing their hands about Biden riding a Peleton and wearing a Rolex, like it's surprising that US Presidents are inordinately rich.

Anyway, I'm gonna get my fat ass back on the hydraulic rowing machine I have stored in my basement before I buy anything else from anyone.

I'm not saying I agree with him, but I'm on a 15Mb down 2Mb up cable modem, and everyone's experience got a lot better once I got an OpenWRT-capable router and turned on Smart Queue Management. I frequently have two Rokus streaming 1080p, two laptops on youtube and an old machine in the basement running torrents, plus my phones connected to a PBX hundreds of miles away, and no one complains that their videos hang or their phone calls stutter (that was the real problem before, poor-quality phone calls).

I don't honestly understand how it works, but it's amazing[0]. I'm okay with the packet loss in that graph, because I think that's how traffic control does its job?

Same here. I’m on 16/1.5 and I can run a couple of SD video streams outbound with an EdgeRouter and smart queueing. I would certainly love more upstream for uploading pictures, and uploading videos takes overnight, but we can have several people streaming down and at least a couple up.

rokus, youtube, and phone calls use very little upload. Try doing a couple zoom calls on 2 mbps upload and you'll have issues. A single HD group zoom session requires 3.0 mbps upload according to zoom https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362023-System-R...

TFA's original title "Bill Gates: America’s Top Farmland Owner" seems fine. Did the submitter editorialize the current title of "Bill and Melinda Gates revealed as largest private farmland owners in US" or was there some other reason for changing it?

If we're going to edit the title, can we at least change it to the more honest "EU company temporarily suspends exports to UK after Brexit"?

>I think most of the negative sentiment against Cyberpunk 2077 comes from three sources:

>Having watched a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5pHpQqhmR4) of how it runs on PS4, I now clearly see where all this hate comes from.

Yes, and that's why TFA links to playstation.com, where you can get a refund for your PS4 purchase. This isn't about the game in general, this is about the awful PS4 version.

Plenty of the criticisms are not specific to a particular console.

This can't be sponsored by Amazon because Amazon wants something for nothing. This can't be sponsored by Google because Google wants everything.

Show that there's something there to donate to and I'll get some money to you.

There's a fantastic review of Garfield Kart Furious Racing on rockpapershotgun[0]

The Lockhorns?

Andy Capp? That was the worst, which was probably why my paper put it in the classifieds.

Or Blondie?

That's probably more like it. The Lockhorns seem to dislike eachother most of the time.

Sally Forth? Luann?

Love Is? Pluggers? Mallard Fillmore?

I was always under the impression that the only romantic entanglement in Mallard Fillmore's life was "owning the libs".

Yes, Blondie. Thanks.

I'm looking forward to these machines coming on the second-hand market. I have no interest in running MacOS but (hopefully) it will be a great platform for running Debian.

They have completely locked-down secure boot, and don't support booting into anything non-Apple. At best you can run a Linux VM under macOS host.

Just give it a few month
