I started practicing Game Development (again). I haven't done it since I finished my college degree, because I was never able to find a job in the area.

I started making one-game-a-month as a learning exercise to tinker with all the different aspects of developing a game: coding, modelling, making art, composing music and sound effects, and even writing a devlog.

I've been blogging the entire thing. My first one-game-a-month is at https://dudezord.github.io/projects/Gatekeeper, if you are curious.

I recently started a blog about learning game development from scratch: https://dudezord.github.io/

I'll make one game a month, while trying to focus on learning the several disciplines required to properly make a game (art, modelling, audio, etc.)

It's called Luminance Contrast: https://stackoverflow.com/a/36888120

It certainly could be an option, but that would require a major change company-wide.

This is more related to my personal distaste on how it affects my productivity and my team's.

Other teams don't have a problem with it, although it is always a too convoluted process to be able to push even the slightest feature or bug-fix.

a = b ?: c;

if b is not nil, then a = b else a = c

Those were the last two levels created by John Romero, more than 20 years after the original launch of the game.

They were also really good. He certainly doesn't seem to have lost his touch.
