WILD can be quite hard to achieve, I think. Doing MILD with dream journal works for me very well if I give it a bit time (not on the first night after a pause.)
This reminds me E. S. Fein's comment when someone asked him "Is reality disappointing now?"
"Not in the slightest. Reality still carries with it the endless enigma of unknowing. When I dream, I know I'm in dream. I know it is just a simulation created by my mind. But reality? I have no idea what reality -- waking life -- actually is. I have nothing to compare it to except for dreams, which stem from waking life. I love my reality, but I have also worked hard to build a reality I am very fond of."
There are different techniques to trigger LD, like Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreaming (MILD) but I think we need something else to make it more mainstream.
Yes my sleep is very restful. It's not really disturbing at all and oftentimes when I wake up I want to go back to sleep and resume the dream. Even in dreams that start out stressful it stops being stressful and more challenging and interactive. Almost like a game because I know that it's a dream I know that I have the cheat codes for that game. So I'm never worried about losing I'm never terrified of life or death situations. It does offer interesting opportunities to explore for lack of a better way to describe it.
Over Christmas, I built a simple tool to track my income and expenses. I don’t need anything elaborate, and it suits my own needs well.
One side effect – I’ve learned – of seeing your income on colorful charts somehow wants to make it move UP by reducing expenses and finding additional income.
What would you add/remove? Maybe AI expense analysis based on uploaded bank statement?
I don't know what tech stack you used, but very well done! :) especially considering the time I suppose you had to built such app.
I would make the bars that represent the months clearer by labeling the months (I just tried the demo).
I'm not sure what do you need in order to just ask for people its bank statements (even if it's not stored). I would check into that.
I think people need more actionable advice (less generic, less "you need to improve on this) than just seeing the same tips over and over again, but this might be hard to implement depending on what we are talking about.
There are some good cheap recipes on the internet, but they might be hard to find sometimes, for instance (despite the promise of making good and affordable recipes is very easy to find, that's other thing).
In some countries, it might be hard to know who is really offering some of the cheapest services like insurance, for instance, because this is also kinda hard to simulate for some situations.
In other situations, I also don't see how a notification that "you should spend less on parties" really goes beneath the surface of any problem whatsoever. Imagine you are dealing with an alcoholic. That not only doesn't work, but its also probably just annoying.
Tracking tools are cool because people need to track expenses anyway, and it's much easier to do it digitally, than to do it with a pen and paper (even if there are a ton of apps out there, with the right marketing and a little bit of luck, you can have some market share and that's great).
AI generated advices... Each case is a case. Each person is a person. It's a ton of work, and it needs to be done carefully. If you are aware of all of this, and want to test in some situations, I will say go for it. If you want something very superficial and generic like some popular magazines and websites do nowadays, I would not invest much time on it.
A lot of us developers have websites. Why not add a "Hire Me" button for potential clients? Maybe we can make some extra money like this or even in time make it as our full-time freelance business.
I don't think I like Upwork (low prices?), TopTal (too exclusive?) or Contra (too many features?)
I just need a super simple site to list my skills and past projects. Maybe, and only maybe, there could also be some helpful tools, like an option to book a consultation call with me for a price.
It’s currently very simple on purpose and I’m choosing new features very slowly. Next up:
- See how many times your profile is visited
- Allow creating fixed price projects
