WFH become more common. You cant program with voice in office full of people who also program with voice. At home you can multytask work with voice while doing home stuff with hands. You just need projector do display on wall while you cook or assemble IKEA table.
I had something similar when we had rewriten old application, and biggest change was move from WebSphere to Tomacat. First question we got was "What is missing in WebSpere?". Nothing is missing it had to much bloat we don't use.
Best PDF reader. For me biggest feature is not locking file while reading. I can't image developing some PDF with Jasper with any other PDF reader. 10 years ago people looked at me as some god when I show them how to test jasper rendering PDF with JUnit and SumatraPDF and not deployng whole app to Websphere and clicking through it. Decresed time to see changes from 4-5 minutes to 2-3 seconds.
I have my personal method for memory and it served me well for now. When you are reading book read chapter title than take couple minutes and think "How/why would I do that".
Examples: "Linear systems with 2 variables" just think about it builds you understanding and it is easier to remember something you understand. Than you read chapter and get second opinion on problem. Bonus point if book has exercises on end of chapter. Then after thinking and before reading go to last exercise in chapter and read it, to answer "why" question, best exercises for this are "Alice have 3 apples ..." style exercises. Try to solve it before reading.
This method works best for STEM books, but it can be fun to try it on history, fantasy books if the have spoliery chapter titles.
Sweden 228B, Croatia 41.5kB. And kids in first year of school should know how to draw flag from memory :(. SVG file size should be good indicator to see if flag is to complex.
Some years ago I worked in $BIGBANK and auditor from $GOVERMENT told as to change street name property from textfield to dropdown (for all countries) to help them with fraud detection, and remove all diacritic characters from client names their new software don't like them.
I told my manager that they are idiots and I won't listen them, he was like 'OK, as I expected' never done anything about it, next auditors didn't mentioned it.
This makes me wonder about the reliability of address verification technology.
There are plenty of addresses where the official version in databases is slightly off from what people actually write on their mail. If I got a credit card transaction with the "official" version, that would be a significant fraud signal, that they were sourcing bogus data from somewhere.
we don't have particle for gravity, but we also don't have particle for temperature. we just define it as statistical value of multiple particles and everybody is happy and don't search for some tempon particle. Maybe mass is also some statistical property of group of particles.
Couple of weeks ago there was post on HN about it.
