It is you and those like you that make people feel unsafe and unwelcome. RMS is quirky and weird and he says what many don't feel safe to talk about. The recent assault based not on fact or principle but rather implied (assumed)intent is a farce and wont lead to good things. Tech is dead and RMS is a fallen king. Take your PC bullying and wreck havoc over everything the geeks or "autists" created. So what? Netanyahu once gave a speech to Congress in the middle of elections. All countries interfere all the time. Some citizens have positive views of the countries those individuals represent some don’t. It doesn’t matter. Countries don’t have friend, they have interests that either align or don’t. Singling out Russia doesn’t in anyway lead to causation on the part of Assange.

Russia is defending its self interest, much in the way any other country would and does where they can to the extent that they can. Russia's capital elite aren't dummies, they have avoided having their wrists tied by the West so far but that will change in time. Americas military budget dwarfs Russia's, it would take a relatively large collective group of the mentally ill to want a direct confrontation with the US. I'm Russian and we aren't as any more or less so, dumb or inhumane as any other people. Don't demonize entire group of people you happen to disagree with.
