Part 2 (of 7) will be up tomorrow: https://twitter.com/ddayen/status/779059213527945216

Random comment on twitter said there would be 7 parts, but there is no indication from the author whether it is a two parter (second available tomorrow) or multi-parts.

re-post the series back when all 7 are done!

You'll be shocked when you read part 4!

Shell scripts do run on many platforms, but it's pretty ugly to code anything non trivial in.

I thought it was pretty much impossible :) But since I started using [ShellCheck](https://www.shellcheck.net) together with [Sublime Edit](https://www.sublimetext.com/) I find shell programming "not too bad".

Only thing worse is CMake XD

There's a handy list of phones with this architecture here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARM_big.LITTLE

One thing I find interesting about Chaplin is that he also composed the music for his films.

"Kajagoogoo" is the 96,714th most common word in the English language.

That's cuz it's so shy...

>GC pause time dropped from 16ms to about 3ms — slightly better than a 500% improvment

I wouldn't call an 81% reduction a 500% improvement.

   100 / 5 = 20 -> 100 - 20 = 80 (/ = reduction)

   100 * 5 = 500 (* = improvement)

   half full = half empty

   same difference

See, kids? Denominators are important!

This is a really good explanation of my program, recommended.

do you happen to have a blog about this stuff? I'd love to read it

I have an ancient blog on my ancient website, not much about ioccc though - but you can at least find links to my previous entries here http://stephensykes.com
