Not quite - legally it's whatever is in the agreement and those have been (and still will be) subject to negotiation. In credit agreements without replacement language (e.g., pre 2018 agreements), a Borrower may very well be forced to borrower in prime, for instance.

What you're talking about is the credit spread adjustments from the ARRC formulation of the LIBOR replacement language (11.448 bps for 1 month, 26.161 bps for 3 months and 42.826 bps for 6 months) [0]. In reality, the credit spread adjustments for Term SOFR are still moving and the market has been all over the place - I've seen 10/15/25 bps at 1mo/3mo/6mo tenors (the most common formulation in the leveraged space right now) or a 10 bps flat adjustment (generally viewed as aggressive).

Two years old, but This is How You Lose the Time War is fantastic.

This should be marked (2014) as the post is last updated April 24, 2014 (and (c) 2013). Would note that several of the links to components are dead, specifically the links to microduino.cc (check this link [1] and select the 3.3v/8mhz option) and radioshack.com (the link in the series is to the pre-petition website, try this link [2] for the motor but believe it's currently out of stock).

Let's just eliminate the ability to vote on comments. Seems reasonable. Or pg could shut down the site. Then Ed couldn't make the comment in the first place, right?

Maybe Ed still thinks he was right and he feels compelled to backpedal because in hindsight his comments seem insensitive.

Or maybe your 99%+ statistic is wrong and wisdom of the crowds isn't all it's cracked up to be. If anything, the juxtaposition between this thread and the original thread shows the hypocrisy endemic to crowd driven discussion.

I never post and I never comment, but I had to login to say something.

HN needs to "man up" and accept that the majority of the attitudes in the original post are exactly why things ended the way they did. People bitching about the styling of payment buttons? Telling someone to "man up" or exclaiming (with plenty of IANAL disclaimers) that no one would get jail time for something like this is typical for your average HN discussion thread. This thread (and the subject of this thread) is exactly what I've come to expect from HN - a bunch of (mostly) know-it-all hyper-competitive hyper-critical 20-something assholes trying to backstab or one-up each other to the top.

And Ed, "Not here, and not now" is such a cop-out I'm not even sure how to react to it. Own your shit.

Edit: Said differently, with friends (or family) like these, who needs enemies.

What exactly do you mean by this?

I think it's some sort of postmodern Gödel sentence formally demonstrating the inability of brogrammer culture to reason about anything.

He details it further in his message.

It seems to bounce on and off from the custom404error.com domain to T4F. I've gotten both the correct page and the custom404 one.

Agreed. In fact, Amazon engineered the Kindle to play Audible books as well. And they didn't eliminate this functionality when they added the ability to 'read' the books aloud.

While I certainly haven't had the same experience when it comes to the hardware or installation issues, I couldn't agree more with the first part of your post. I moved over to the mac for a long time, but I find myself more at ease in Linux.

In fact, I never understood why the RoR guys insist on macs for development - I've found development much easier on linux. On the other hand, I'm also not trading in my mac any time soon - it's by far the best music recording platform out there.
