TiDB has gained some momentum in silicon valley with companies looking to adopt it. Does he have any commentary on TiDB which is an OLTP and OLAP hybrid?

This is a very low quality article rehashing some ones FB/Instagram video

Hi peter, do you use any legal specific ai software ? Do you use ChatGPT in your work?

We're starting to test the use AI to help us prepare initial drafts of documents.

The only people who will respond is those who want to claim some status by saying they drive a reliable old car or some rare version of Porsche or Saab.

Nobody who drives the most recent bme x3 or Audi a8 or Nissan kicks is gonna respond.

I drive a Hyundai Ioniq5

Why do they need to drive a practical car? Some people have the $$$ to not worry about that and I'm not going to shit on them for that.

These are really cool and have more cargo room than they look like they have due to its long wheel base. Hyundai/kia went from diet coke civic to cool kid on the block. Was looking to buy one of these becuase im in the market for an EV but Im probably gonna get a used polestar 3 because I like volvo and they are a steal right now with low miles.

I'll shit on them for that. Cars, like guns, are tools, not toys. To use them like toys is harmful and disrespectful to the environment. There are healthier ways to feel powerful. To use cars as profligately as we do now is immensely harmful. For background, I grew up poor and in farming country. I used to ride along with my neighbor when he hayed our field with equipment that a blacksmith, a wheelwright, a leatherworker, and a carpenter could make, pulled by a brace of draught horses.

I didn't get my driving license until I was in my 20s, and finally did in the interest of designated driving for drunk friends. I didn't get an automobile until I was almost 30, and I really look forward to returning to a carfree lifestyle. "Public luxury, private sufficiency" is the way forward for us billions. The more integrated out bodies and minds to meet our needs, the better.

We can keep going down here, the problem with society can also be that prestige in itself is valuable.

Instead of say prestige being the side effect of being good at something useful for the society.

This is commendable, people who travel 50-300 miles do not use an Aeroplane because you need a car on the other end regardless, so I rather take my car.

For example, SF to Tahoe is demonstrated as a route I could fly, but I need a car on the other end for sure. I could rent a car which is a pain.

I could arrange a driver service, but at that point I could get driver to drive me from San Francisco.

It is too expensive for folks who want to fly themselves and save money, it is not a great deal better for those who can hire drivers.

If all the talk about reducing costs for this aircraft is fully realized it will still cost at least a few hundred thousand dollars. If you have those means then funding a few cars isn't much of an issue.

Berkley bowl in Berkley carries it. It is I think one of the best grocery stores out there.

Yes, we had a test fail when generating `12 days ago` strings from a past date.

In Oakland, I felt it more significantly than any other earthquake in a while.

It got my attention in Alameda.

Fellow Alamedan here, same. I was surprised it was across the Bay.

Yeah, I figured it was in Hayward or maybe Berkeley.

They should have also included a quote from CISR an Indian lab that go there about the same time as many of the American labs https://arxiv.org/abs/2308.03544

Yes, I noticed that this article disproportionately quoted American scientists who played relatively minor roles in the replication efforts. I guess the reporter just found it more convenient to reach out to them for comments.
