The only problem I have with escaping the news cycle is relying on other people for important information. "Today is shorts and t-shirt, tomorrow is freezing rain" has caught me by surprise. So I find myself following the weather more than I would if I were watching local news. But it's not just weather.
Regardless. It's good to feel disconnected from these things. But at the same time I recognize I have a responsibility to take care of the things within my reach.
Is this what people were doing in 1939 though? I really hope not.
You can check the weather by looking at the sky. I'm amazed at how many people can't do this. You can get an idea of what will happen for the next day or so. (Although if you are out on open water, always be prepared for bursts of bad weather).
I just wish they would introduce a TKL layout. I don't use laptop keyboard because during development I rely on the navigation key combos. Think control-shift-home or shift-arrow, or control-pagedown.
And it's disappointing because Framework is the _perfect_ company to offer such an option.
I honestly think there's a technology / robotics solution to the pesticide, and especially herbicide, problems. I'm in completely the wrong space to see it happen, but I'm still hopeful someone smart can do it.
What's odd about this is I believe there does exist a winner takes all technology. And that it's AR.
The more I dream about the possibilities of AR, the more I believe people are going to find it incredibly useful. It's just the hardware isn't nearly ready. Maybe I'm wrong but I believe these companies are making some of the largest strategic blunders possible at this point in time.
Regardless. It's good to feel disconnected from these things. But at the same time I recognize I have a responsibility to take care of the things within my reach.
