I still use mine every couple of weeks for movies that my family doesn’t want to watch with me.
I also use it as my hotel setup when I travel for work. It’s great having a full size monitor wherever I need. I’m excited for the coming improvements with vision os 2.0.
I’m still not comfortable using it in public, though. It feels ostentatious, but I will try it the next time I fly with the family. Having people I trust around me will make me more willing to go immersive while traveling.
How about between Florida and New York? Or cities in red states vs their state government? It’s not zero anymore, especially when politicians challenging federal authority (eg Texas with border control) in obviously illegal ways.
We have numerous examples - Jan 6th, the Bundy standoffs, Oklahoma City, the Black Wall Street bombings - the risk isn’t zero.
This example (because of the underlying rule change) explains why this has been such a focus of the right wing and of Elon. I never really cared about that mark and didn’t understand the focus on it. Literally one of the first things they changed after the takeover.
This is great, and I really appreciate the time you took to explain your thinking. I have similar feelings about the social networks out there, and I’m working on my own take on what I want. It’s very different than what you did, so I’m curious to try yours out and see what everyone has to say. We need more experiments like this - unabashedly anti-engagement and pro-utility.
