For the request on the homepage for a Homebrew formula:

From [1]:

> Homebrew generally won't accept libraries that can be installed correctly with `pip install foo`.

[1]: https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew/blob/master/share/doc/h...

Example: duplicity[0] is available via homebrew.

[0]: https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew/blob/master/Library/For...

Yes. But pgcli is not a python library, it's an application that happens to be written in python.

> Homebrew is happy to accept applications that are built in Python, whether the apps are available from PyPI or not.

Example: duplicity[0] is available via homebrew.

Most users can just download a binary from [1], they don't have to compile hub itself.

Or, in this case, ->>:

  (def lols (->> strs
                 (filter #(re-find #"LOL" %))
                 (map upper-case)
                 sort))
How I read it: take strs, filter the strings that contain "LOL", turn them into upper case and then sort them. Basically it reads the same as the pipeline example in the README.

Apparently, it's a major service outage [1].

Most JavaScript libraries end with .js: Angular.js, Ember.js, Backbone.js, Knockout.js... And yes, JavaScript is a mainstream language (in the browser, at least).

From the page:

> Live Streaming video requires Safari 4 or later on OS X v10.6 or later; Safari on iOS 4.2 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later.

So, no, unless someone posts a link to a live stream you can watch with VLC, this won't work on any non-Apple device (even with QuickTime).

Just a heads up, they modified it to include "or QuickTime 7 on Windows"

Where? I don't see it.

edit: nevermind, figured it out.

Didn't crash for me on Chrome (Stable) in the first place, but when I tried to translate the page it did.

Debian does move slowly (that's why it is good for servers; you don't have to update often) but you probably need to update your server. On Debian Wheezy, I have got Vim 7.3.547.

>Debian Wheezy

I believe due to a mistake it ended up on Debian 6 (Squeeze). Still, shouldn't 7.3 be available via apt-get?

Nope, this is what Packages.bz2 shows for Debian 6:

  Package: vim
  ...
  Version: 2:7.2.445+hg~cb94c42c0e1a-1
  ...
  Filename: pool/main/v/vim/vim_7.2.445+hg~cb94c42c0e1a-1_i386.deb
And the file is still available here: http://debian.ipacct.com/debian/pool/main/v/vim/vim_7.2.445+...

Edit: and no, it wouldn't be available to Debian Squeeze users, since it is served as an update to Wheezy users and not as a separate package (even if it was, it would have been made available only to Wheezy).

This is so much cool!

From the very same article you tried to read:

> JavaScript turns the PNG and JSON into an animation, using either the canvas element, or emulating it using overlaid div elements for older browsers.
