Vimeo will never be effective because they've already issued a statement that they neither want to be like YouTube or host the same variety/types of content.

Oh yeah.. i wouldn't even dream of Vimeo being anything like we're talking about in the future lmao.

But there was a time where it seemed like it could be what the people deserved, even if it was just teenage optimism lol

It started when a Joe Biden speech video got disliked into oblivion. We're talking 2 million+ dislikes.

Why not do things transparently and do weighting by default weight = upvotes - downvote + us cents paid by author, all 3 visible.

It's not unreasonable, and it's exactly how it used to work until Google started messing around with inserting ads into every aspect of the site (they very much want you to you click on the ad-laden videos you were NOT looking for). They changed the default and relegated it to be a search modifier.

They've also been running this skin recently on Navy ships. There was a post or two about it on the specialaccess subreddit.

Probably, since just like back then with IE, Edge is now baked into the OS as well.

TPM 2 plus a BIOS update for any board made pre August of 2021, & 60GB or so of free space on their OS drive, which these days is also more of a rarity since the trend has been small OS SSD drive with large secondary & storage drives.

100% fair.

Well, they certainly do seem to like throwing backend changes regarding new "features" straight onto production.

PoW is far from immune to it as the Chinese have proven, as they hold roughly 49% of all BTC and 65% of all mining capacity on the planet.

Except it hasn't been, instead places like China (the largest crypto mining market on the planet) has instead opted to open new coal plants to feed their state operated mining centers.
