> So much so, during client calls I'm often introduced as the CTO by our CEO.

Sounds like you are already doing most of the CTO work and virtually getting recognized as such. Step up and claim the CTO position.

It's great for quads, I've used this to flash ESC firmware in the field with just a mobile browser and Internet connection: https://esc-configurator.com/

Bingo! Wall St wants a monopoly on ALL your retirement funds. Your typical employer 401k plan offers only mutual funds run by Wall St. No investing in alternate assets such as real estate or crypto. The big boys get their cut AND make sure you are not crowding the field in lucrative investments.

What's super annoying is that Dell does not provide a BIOS option to switch between connected standby and S3. It's likely a cost saving decision because S3 is more complex to implement and having both options even more so. There are also some rumors that Dell may be under contractual agreement with MS to only support connected standby.

Psst. On certain motherboards Dell just removed the option from the UI but the implementation is still there. They also oh so helpfully store their config in EFI variables so... If you're lucky you can just flip the right bit and enable S3 sleep again. For example the G5 5505 has it in D01SetupConfig and you just need to find the right offset that corresponds to it. https://www.reddit.com/r/DellG5SE/comments/kpg3ez/how_to_dis...

It seems to be a subtle critique of Google. I read it as Circle = Google, ad business where Mae works = AdWords, tablets = Android, zings = tweets / Google+ shares, new camera = Google Glass.

Or maybe a critique of Google + FB + TW, if not of the pervasive "ideology" that permeates the whole social media/cloud everywhere discourse.

You don't even have to work for a social media company to see the "community building" pressure; any modern, web-friendly, "agile" firm is trying to get its employees to invest themselves into the company. If you are part of the community, its harder to switch jobs.

If you write or know of a blog post about this, I would be interested in reading it.

Me too.

Interesting to see how companies sometimes have very similar looking apps across all or some platforms (Facebook), while others are at the opposite end and have completely different experiences (KickStarter).

The OP has deleted two posts so far in this thread, both saying that DO found him to be engaging in a DDOS. This "authorization" could disappear soon as well.

Interesting. More info here:

ThermalForce says price is available upon request -- so it may be available for sale as a custom order. There are some other interesting products at that first link as well.

Work is underway on 60Ghz Wifi, which has wavelengths of only a few millimeters.

In a few years we could have tri-band routers covering 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz and 60Ghz. Correlating the info from all these frequencies should provide a much better picture.

SEEKING WORK - NYC or remote.

I am a software engineer who focuses on Android development. Within the last 2 years, I have worked on projects for for small and large startups, as well as for brands such as AT&T, Anheuser Busch and Victoria Secret. Within that period I have completed over seven apps and two mobile SDKs. I am deeply passionate about mobile development and creating top-notch experiences.

What can I do for you? Here are some things I specialize in:

* iOS to Android Ports. Do you have an iOS app that you want to port to Android? I can take the existing iOS experience, modify it to conform to Android standards and deliver a polished high-quality Android app. I have done this successfully for multiple clients such Gving and Snapr (see my portfolio below [1]).

* Web Apps. Do you have a mobile site that you want to convert to an app? I can package the mobile web content and create a mobile app using a standard solution like PhoneGap or a custom web wrapper. For more advanced projects I can create a hybrid app that combines the best of the web and native worlds to fully access all the capabilities of the mobile device. Some sample projects in this category include JackThreads and Snapr (see my portfolio below [1]).

* App Rescue and App Optimization. Do you have an Android app that isn't quite working? Perhaps it crashes, it's slow or has other problems? I can perform a complete analysis, diagnose the issues and quickly fix them. For a sample project in this category see Loc8te in my portfolio below [1].

* SDKs. Do you have some awesome stuff that you want everyone to use in their own apps? I can put together a feature rich SDK that lets other developers easily access your app's functionality / services. I have done this for Snapr and Loc8te (see my portfolio below [1]).

Feel free to get in touch. My portfolio and email are listed below.
