Thirded! If anyone knows what it takes to get things off the ground, it's Mr. McDowall. He's assembled a pretty interesting cross-section of the startup crowd here - keenly looking forward to reading this myself.

No, $9 for another programming book. Which is a steal, frankly.

Thanks! Yeah, appending a hash is not ideal, but it got the job done - I'll be updating it with pushState or similar in the future.

Great suggestions, thanks. This is very v1.0, I'm going to keep tinkering.

It's currently using a Google Fonts font, so you could easily swap it out (or use a system font) if you were so inclined.

I guess I should have pointed out that this is very much a 1.0 release. This is obviously not desired behaviour - thanks for the heads up.

I'm not trying to convince anyone that they're wrong. If I was, I could have easily said "If you use Fireworks, you're a bad person." I don't care what tools you use.

What I'd like to see less of is the obsessive fascination with our tools - it's great to be using cool stuff, but that's a means to an end, not the end in and of itself.

I don't understand what 3D printing has to do with floor space. You can't print an iMac.

Also, this post assumes that Apple will make TVs 'ranging from 27 to 60 inches', which seems very un-Apple, at best.

I think the rise of the internet and the way do business thereon - fairly transparently, and socially - has made us more aware of how 'legacy' companies are behaving. Our expectations of how businesses should work has changed.

He's not slamming the entire service, he's slamming the redesign, and rightly so. The entire purpose of the site is to teach - and the changes to the design have obfuscated what course you're supposed to take next. The design is objectively not working as well as it could.

We've heard comments from both sides of the table and we're working as fast as possible to create something that's easy to use for all of our users. Thanks for bearing with us.

Couldn't agree more. As someone's who is using Codecademy to learn, I find myself hunting around for the way I got to that useful page with the week-by-week lessons all spelled out in a nice list. Unfortunately I end up guessing URLs until I get it right, as it seems there's no easy way to get there via the actual interface.
