The lazy essay assignment is 100% real. However, the driving force there is not the teacher, but parental complaints causing ass-covering administrative mandates. "Why wasn't there any homework on topic X before the exam?" "We apologize so much for that, Mrs Keen. First, we will change Precious's grade, but from now on..."


The problem is that people would really dislike that. It's even satirized in Snow Crash in an extremely unflattering portrayal of the kind of person who would routinely do this.


This stuff was probably human-written, but that actually makes it worse. At least the AI has an excuse.


What you need is a feedback system between your coarse measurements from a low precision system such as a ruler or goggles and the prints that you make. Does the tab you printed fit into the latch? What part fails to fit?


The difference smells like culture from across the ocean.


Damages due to lack of maintenance are not covered and you don't see the local application?


I’m not convinced it’s cheaper to surveil the entire country than to simply assess claims when they are reported and dismiss those that are due to lack of maintenance.


For now, in most domains, insurance is optional. If it smells worthless, they have a problem.


The audio was acceptable over a bad line. For the competition, it too often wasn't.


That's it, a very clear formulation. As a teacher, that describes my experience precisely. I am willing to bet it describes all other high-burnout professions.
