Dell wants to crack the whip to see how many servants remain.

Not OP, but I type while lying down in bed. I don't have the AVP, but I do have xreal Air AR glasses that basically mirror my macbook pro's screen. I rest my Apple keyboard across my crotch/upper thighs, wherever my arms are most comfortable. To my right (on the bed) is my Apple Trackpad. It's kind of a hastle to move my hand from keyboard to trackpad, but I can drive almost all functions on my computer through the keyboard, so it's only used as a last resort. I also have airpods in my ears because the laptop is closed and on the floor.

I do this when my sciatica pain is preventing me from sitting and I'm tired of standing at my desk. I can work lying down for up to a couple of hours and find the position to be highly comfortable and productive.

Makes sense to me. This is completely a layman's imagination talking, but I've always thought of a man's sperm as the "current state of the man". A man produces sperm constantly and with what we know of epigenetics, he can live his life for better or worse. For instance, exercise, vitamin D levels, and alcohol use all result in changes to his epigenetic expression.

Contrast this with a woman, whom is born with all the eggs she will ever have. She doesn't produce any new ones and thus her "job" is to maintain the freshness of her eggs for as long as possible. It also makes sense that youth is the best time for her to conceive a child as her eggs will not have accumulated as much damage as an older woman.

This kind of paints the picture that a man who is taking care of himself should aim for a young woman so as to give their children the best genetic roll of the dice.

Reminds me of Hamsterdam in the third season of The Wire. The purpose of Hamsterdam was to serve as an open air drug market where drugs could be purchased and consumed. It of course devolved into terrible conditions, but it was all concentrated in a single area that could be monitored and policed. Drug use outside of the area was not tolerated at all.

The idea stills holds merit in my mind. Yes, it condones drug use and illegal activities, but it also cleans up the surrounding areas. I think it would also serve as a deterrent for the casual trying of a substance that could result in lifelong addiction. Who in their right mind would want to go to such a disgusting place to try something new?

It turns a problem that is currently diffuse to a problem that is concentrated. Like the difference between coal power plants spewing CO2 into the air versus nuclear power plants that leave radioactive waste that can be contained in barrels. Not the greatest analogy, but the point stands.

Do you not have to worry about oxalates from raw spinach and almonds if you're not vegan? What protects you from kidney stones in animal foods?

I just wanted to thank you for this advice. I just used your laminar flow idea and didn't even need to use my microfiber cloth at all, the lenses were totally clean!

Here's what I did: 1. First pass of laminar flow water from the faucet to remove any large debris. 2. Two sprays of lens cleaner on each side of each lens. 3. Rinse lenses with laminar flow water making sure to leave no droplets behind.

Thank you for changing my algorithm forever.

I like it because I can login to my iMac without typing the password when I'm wearing it.

This looks great, like the start of a "Reddit Enhancement Suite" for hacker news. It would be great if it also worked with hckrnews.com as I find that to be my main interface for browsing the day's discussions.

Yeah, it's like we're trying to find the correct balance between nonchalance and action.

I for one lean towards nipping things in the bud and have been experiencing ever-increasing anxiety since I started watching Covid-19 in late January.

Wow, that's refreshingly forward thinking! I wish my company took remote work seriously.

Yeah there is nothing special about the internet in the office!
