I use this: https://github.com/lukaspieper/Gcam-Services-Provider to make the GCam app work

You should be able to get GCam via Aurora Store by setting the spoofing to a Pixel device, but newer versions of GCam check for something that cannot be spoofed with an app (issue #22 in above github) so you have to get a modded GCam app if you want to user newer versions and use an android rom that does not spoof this.

Seems unrelated to their infrastructure, the DNS records for facebook.com, instagram.com, whatsapp.com and all derivative domains are wiped clean it seems

edit: though saying that, they do run their own registrar... Might've fucked something up over there.

Bosch emulator to emulate the advantages of antilock brake systems.

My main recent annoyance is that they removed the mentions tab on mobile, and replaced it with some weird feature called stage (some sort of clubhouse ripoff where you do... livestreaming?) It placed the mentions in under the search(?!?!) tab, which adds 2 clicks, and also added significant time delays sometimes when the search tab has to load for 3-10seconds........ I have a server with lots of discord "OGs" back from 2015, and it's the most complained about change that has been discussed in that server, by far.

Th thing I hate the most about the mentions-under-search bit is that it's so unintuitive. I had a couple of pings and I looked around everywhere trying to find them, and the removal of the very helpfully labelled "@" button pissed me off. I only found out the pings were under search after I read the changelog.

And for what? Discord stages are an absolute ghost town. The top ones are all "Talent shows" in bait servers. I don't mind changing UX as much as most people on HN, but changing UX to chase a fad that has already died out really grinds my gears.

Only time I ever see stages mentioned is when they do a paid spot with a YouTuber to do one..

This shows me almost exclusively pinterest results. A website I've never in my life used, but for some reason always get recommended to go to by google.

Sad to see NRK being abused like this tho

He's probably refering to DPF (diesel particulate filter) deletes. I'm pretty sure that is what just about 95% of customers at tune shops in Europe are in there for, bypassing or deleting DPF so they don't have to deal with all the costs around it. (and the annoyances of software messing with how your car drives to "renew" the DPF randomly)

I know someone that runs a tune shop in my small town and I'd say it is about 99.99% of his customers that are in for a DPF delete or bypass.

That is the big one. There are several other ways to increase power or fuel mileage at the expense of emissions, but DPF is the largest compromise.

In my experience the explanation is, that people like dogs.

and dogs like people.

People have emotional needs that they might get from other people or might get from animals.

I think the post though is talking about a syndrome that happens in India.

I have seen many people get bit by a dog in the US and never heard anybody say they thought they were pregnant.

Work around animals for a bit and you lean that a sweet critter that becomes pregnant or a new mother are often the nastiest things imaginable. Only to go back again after babies have moved on.

yep.

there was that time a woman walking her dog ran into a couple of giraffes protecting a baby and the male did a one-hit kill.

when i was a kid I never was able to hang out with a peer group of other kids but I did run with a pack of dogs and I realized that was why I was much better with dogs than my wife despite the fact that she is a professional animal handler (teaches people to ride horses.)

There was a time when I wasn't sure what it was I lived for and realized I get limitless joy from experiences with animals be it my pets or seeing birds, deer, battling with the beavers that try to plug our culvert pipe or otherwise.

I don't use it myself, but maybe have a look at Staxrip? It's not quite that user friendly, but a lot more than remembering the commands for making a video from individual images.

Can't even use the "Clearly they were using the cold war era definition" excuse, as Romania would be a second world country by that definition.

Could also be for the same reason my family made sure we had at least 1 (fatty) fish meal every week.

We live far north in Norway, sunlight is relatively scarce through the year, which means Vitamin D deficiency is a concern.

But what is also a good source of Vitamin D? Fish!

Good point. Did the USSR leaders know about the positive health effects of fish (vitamin D, fatty acids etc.) though, and if they did, why didn't they use that as an argument to convince people?

Come to think of it, they probably didn't. But a quick online search seems to show that the 70s was around when the world understood Vitamin D a lot more, so could be.

They definitely did, since they promoted fish oil consumption in their healthy lifestyle propaganda ads since 1950s and maybe even earlier.

Wow, that's a big omission in the article then.
