>* Google and wikipedia magically stopped working when you searched for "tiananmen"

Hmm I find this hard to believe because the massacre is known as the June Fourth Incident. "tiananmen" is the location, and blocking that would seem a bit strange for people trying to find directions, etc.

It might be based more on the results that those sites return than the query itself. It is just a still existing square. But if you search "Tiananmen" in English, most results will definitely be the sort of thing China doesn't want it's citizens to look at.

It’s almost as if they block the massacre in multiple languages

Tiananmen Square is what the massacre is referred to as in the United States

If you search for Tiananmen in Google, the first result is 6/4. Most westerners associate Tiananmen with the event more than the place.

Now if you search for Taylor Swift's most recent album, TS 1989, well, that's kind of blocked also. Not sure why :)

Wow that's hilarious

I'd expect them to block "tiananmen", the search of those exact Latin characters.

You're looking for the wrong thing. Its the May 35th Incident now comrade ;p

I think it's a capital crime in China.

>Through Wikileaks, we can plainly see that they were very much in bed with the Clinton campaign and frankly anyone with an ounce of sensibility should see that as plain as day.

Thought they were pro-Trump?

The general argument I've heard that synthesizes both: They gave Trump too much credibility by treating him as an equal while attacking Clinton (were "pro-Trump"), but endorsed Clinton and crowed triumphantly at every step that she had it in the bag (were "pro-Clinton").

We should probably stop making absolute claims about anything regarding this election, as there are so many moving parts it is impossible to conclusively place responsibility at any one group's feet.

Then again, that may have been the point you were making :)

I believe 'they' in the sentence refers to the media. As in, info from Wikileaks suggests that "[the media] is in bed with the Clinton campaign".

'They' being the media in that sentence.

It's more complicated than either one.

Sounds like the plot of Pandora's Star by Peter Hamilton. (I'm not done with it yet tho, so maybe not)

You are in for a treat. Hands down my favorite sci-fi series of all time.

You both have intrigued me. Seems that I need to read the series. Thanks!

I mean, you could live downtown and drive 25 minutes to Sorrento valley. Most commuters are going the opposite way. You could even go surfing in the morning before work, if you live just a bit north of Downtown.

Sorrento valley is a lonely place though, I do admit this.

As counter-intuitive as this sounds, it's actually the complete opposite. Living downtown and commuting to Sorrento Valley is a pain. My boss does it and he does 6 AM - 8PM to avoid traffic. Meanwhile, my wife goes from Del Mar to Old Town and only starts seeing traffic close to Del Mar on her way back.

Okay, I was just speculating. I lived in Penasquitos.

I think you mean 55-85 minutes.

I dont want to detract from your story, but

>has an IMDB page

is a funny metric for success.

She wanted to work as an artist for Disney as a kid, realized that would take a lot of effort and put the time in. Considering how many other people try and do the same thing and fail it seems like a reasonable metric for success.

It's a surprisingly brutal world. She got into CalArts which has a 27.5% acceptance rate and the application takes a lot of time, so I suspect they scare off a lot of people.

I like that metric, because I was considered super smart as a kid, and I have two IMDB credits. (one even a Sundance winner)

But I failed the other criteria in the article, inventions (even if I invented a certain computer-game-as-artform category in the 90ies), PhD, scientific success, ...

Yes, it's a funny metric. And even if e.g. Cannes states that you can attend the festival if you are on IMDB, they never let me in. (Nowadays I wouldn't want to either because of politics) So it's inconsistent also.

I thought that was kind of a weird evidence of success at art but I guess the person was in animation/special effects?

Hard to fake injury tho

With HIPAA, employers really can't ask too many questions, and with the ability to "work from home" you can hide easily. Eventually they catch on, but it takes awhile. I've worked with a network "engineer" who pulled in six figures, while doing basically nothing.

What are the blood transfusions for?

Tiger blood.

What are Happiness Heros? Customer service or HR?

I think they might be the customer success team he mentions in the article.

> Socially, children are dependents. If guardians cannot feed their dependents adequately, they should lose their dependents.

I feel like I'm reading the beginning of one of those hunger game teen dystopia novels
