You may not be aware of this, but although I also installed the extension and I am trying it out, Firefox has a way to manage the tab hoarder use case, built into the default install.
Using the Awesomebar and typing "%" and a tab name will find the tab. Navigating to it and clicking (or pressing enter) will open the tab in its existing window.
creator here... problem I had was with discovery mainly. Listing the title of whatever tab was last focused didn't really indicate what was there at least for me. Sometimes I'd check the weather and forget to close it but the other 9 tabs are related to whatever project I am working on.
