I'm a Kiwi and I don't get it either. We like to point to Australia and say "Sure, we've got racism, but have you seen those guys over there?" so, we're a thinking man's somewhat racist post-colonial society?

Australia is dumber than NZ. So the "dumb" NZers are leaving, and leaving makes them dumb, but their presence in Australia makes Australia smarter.

So the average IQ rises in both countries, then. Sounds like a win to me.
