Look at something like smartphones. We all pretend that the iPhone invented the segment... but I had a shitty PDA that was a 2nd cousin to the iphone a decade before, and a functionally equivalent if not polished iPaq in the 2003/2004 timeframe. I used Google maps on a AMPS data plan in 2005.
AI is a tool, and just like with "natural intelligence" that we walk around with in our heads, its foundational but only transformative when we apply intelligence to solve problems. There's no magic.
