My coworkers and I often teased my former boss about not seeing Office Space, but it went to a new level when he introduced a new policy and decided to write it up on the whiteboard:

"Is it good for the company?"

He didn't understand why we were all laughing at him.

I would say it's pretty much accurate minus the sex with Jennifer Aniston.

It's a caricature of course, but some cube-dwelling gigs can be fairly close to aspects of that; process-drones, expectation of extra work with no extra benefits (generally in order to cover mis-management), etc.

It's supposed to be a caricature, but many workplaces are not only that bad, they're worse.

I've seen worse offices, and better offices, but yes... offices are soul crushing prisons the likes of which would haunt your very dreams.
