Wow, this is the most dystopian take possible regarding Slack. Half the time I can't tell if they're arguing against real-time chat or for IRC.
In any case I think that you could easily argue that most of these things depend on your organization and what use cases you have for Slack. But wow, I'm having a hard time visualizing how it could be this bad.
Before Slack, my org had no centralized communication. That sucked way worse than having Slack.
