> I think in time it will be shown in time that while machines can make mistakes, they make fewer mistakes than humans.

This is religious thinking.

>There is a certain amount of fear these events generate, but did you notice that the same level of media coverage was not given for the dozens of similar accidents that happened in the past 24 hours with non-autonomous vehicles?

This is a known unethical company testing dangerous technology on public streets and killing someone. By the numbers Uber's self driving cars are far worse than human drivers when it comes to safety, and the video shows their autonomous system has serious issues. Why defend them?

If you're a fan of self-driving cars you should be slamming Uber, if anything is going to hurt the technology it's shitty companies playing fast and loose with their tech resulting in people's deaths.

> If you’re a fan of self-driving cars

I’m actually not. I’m agnostic about the technology, and I don’t care for Uber either for or against, and am not defending them nor am I interested in attacking them.

Just being realistic, looking at the big picture. Realistically speaking, this tech will be improved in time.

>nor am I interested in attacking them.

Why not?

I have better things to do with my time. My comment wasn’t aimed at any one company. I think you misread my comments as fanboy cheering for autonomy by the whole point of my comment was centered around the fact that the technology cat is out of the bag. That’s just reality.
