Primarily, the fact that Amazon really has its act together with respect to security. That silly HMAC canonicalization bug notwithstanding, they've made a whole lot of good design decisions. I currently use Linode. A year ago, I reported two vulnerabilities in their control panel to them, both elementary in nature, one of them with a PoC exploit. Last I checked, neither has been fixed.
