“Bithacks”, as they’re called, are great for high-performance, low-level development. For C++ developers of my variety, it’s an indispensable tool for writing fast code. Outside of that, it’s primarily a curiosity, but I still think it’s a useful exercise that improves understanding of how a machine and its binary logic work.
