Ask HN: Looking for Article
1 point by cced on March 25, 2019 | hide | past | favorite
Hi,

I recall reading about a developper who found an old bug in what appeared to be a really simple sort function in Javascript.

The article mentions how the author couldn’t believe this was the doing of the language, but his own.

He then goes through the process of troubleshooting until he finally just asks the maintainers if about the error.

The maintainers then reply with “yeah, it’s a bug - thanks!”.

Does anyone recall the story? It is a great example of how troubleshooting and logic can help identify issues... and that _sometimes_ you aren’t crazy.

Cheers!
