So Apple goes the opposite way compared with Purism: making different OS for every device. What's the point?

Maybe we’ll be able to discuss this more concretely once Purism has actually shipped a mobile device.

An way to think about this is that iPadOS is now (presumably) a separate team at Apple. Each year a new version of iPadOS will come out and that team will need to have features for it.

When it was just one platform, it felt like iPad features only got implemented when the iOS team had some had spare time away from developing the clearly higher priority iPhone features.

Because we’ve learned time after time that one size fits all is a fool’s dream.
