I do this too. It is actually really good at holding the lane center, probably better than I am unless I'm really focused. But, it is more serene about the barrier than I am so sometimes I'll flinch away and end up driving again.
I was really impressed in the heavy rains we had a few weeks ago. At night in the storm I could barely make out the lanes but the car had a solid picture of not just my lane but the adjacent lanes as well. What ever filtering they are doing is impressive.
