I believe there is an 'unofficial' API for HN and I'm wondering if it's possible to construct something similar to the Past tab but instead of highest ranked post of the day, it will show the most flagged posts of the day.

Some times good articles get flagged into oblivion because they're contentious and if you aren't sitting on the sit all day long you'll never see it because it gets push down past the first few pages.

I'd like a way to surface these submissions hopefully.
