Presumably blue and green are now higher performance than red. I don’t imagine running windows update on an SMR drive would work very well.

Greens have been rebranded to Blue for a few years now, which leaves the Blue line a confusing mess. They've also apparently included SMR drives in that line too. So the Blue line includes standard drives (no power saving, normal cache, not SMR), green drives (aggressive power saving which results in higher latency for non-continuous usage, less cache) and SMR drives. It's very hard to know what you're getting.

Rumor has it that the next generation of Blue drives are just 5G modems transmitting data to the cloud.
