The ignorance about the reasons for those steps and the way they count feels disingenuous to me.

Examples:

At the end of the installation of both pieces of software, you did not accomplish the same things. Complications of ST (device id's for example) are presented as good solutions to a problem, glossing over the fact that the others wouldn't need them or they were counted towards the setup.
