The tube version was incredibly rare, and held a near mythical existence back in the 80s and 90s. It's much easier to find today.

When people were chucking out their old computers in the mid to late 90s, we managed to get an old 6502 second processor and played Elite on it.

I was still useless at the game.

I'm still using BeebEm on Linux, this can emulate several different co processors. Fun times.
