Fine. You're a rent-seeker[1]. You're not providing any value. You're just grabbing a resource when it's cheap, in the hopes that somebody else will want to make it valuable.

You're not an "investor" because you're not contributing to building anything. You add no value to it. You're simply taking it because it was there, like grabbing every cookie off the plate simply because nobody made it illegal for you to do so.

Now part of it is illegal, but the name wasn't coined just to apply to the activities that are now illegal. It was coined for all of that value-sucking behavior. So you can disclaim the name if you want, but it doesn't make you an "investor". All you're doing is making it harder for people to get real work done.
