:q in a split should close that split, not kill the whole app. I can't use this app until he fixes that, because that shortcut is hardwired into my brain.

There's definitely some neat stuff in there, though.




I think this neatly illustrates the problems with other software have Vi or Emacs key bindings. Everyone has a slightly different set of bindings they use to do things and if you have even slightly different behaviour then it's just more a hindrance than a help. I can cope with learning new key bindings but I can't cope with something that activates my Emacs muscle memory then doesn't quite do what I tell it :)


It took me a while to figure out that the way to close a split is ^Wc

Probably because I'm not a huge vim user, and was only previously aware of the :q syntax you mentioned.


Funny, I use ^Wq for that.
