Honestly, even if it’s just a few otherwise-sane people who literally died of COVID while simultaneously denying the disease's existence, that is astonishing in and of itself.

Millions and millions have had this disease. Some of them from religions that insist that sickness is a reflection of lack of inner spiritual strength. And one unsubstantiated claim is astonishing?

I think one big problem in society is that it is becoming more apparent that news are often of very low quality. A lot of it is either sensationalism that is detached from reality, selective reporting or just copied from PR. And it’s not even just news but also politics. I’m from Germany and also here they told the public In the beginning that it’s not worse than the flu and later that masks don’t work. Being transparent about worries of not enough masks for medical personell would have been so much better and probably led to far fewer anti-mask people.

All this gives alternative news sources/politicians that are even worse a lot of credibility.
