I think the shock comes from the perception that facial recognition should have 0 false positives. Everyone would agree that it's better.



No, the expectation of false positives should mean that a positive match is not enough to keep somebody locked up for multiple days.


Specially if it’s someone who voluntarily turned himself in in the first place.
