Seeing a lot of comments about how the justice system sucks. But... isn't prosecuting people who destroy evidence exactly what should be happening?

Bad person does bad thing > prosecuted

Bad person tries to hide bad thing > prosecuted for that too

As far as I can tell, this is what a good justice system looks like.
