Both are in the same sweet spot. But both are big languages with a lot of features and requires a lot of support. Luckily, so far, they are supported by big companies (JetBrain is no Apple, but has a good track record of supporting this kind of things).

More interesting things are Elixir and Julia, which arguably are in the similar sweet spot (Elixir may be closer to that than Julia).
