So, we have been promised much-awaited UX improvements, but what we get is what amounts to be spyware of one form or other.

Not cool, Muse group, not cool at all. You’ve got to give some before you collect any.

The way to UX improvements apperently involves forking WxWidgets.

There is a lot of flamebait on HN these days. People just regurgitate talking points they see elsewhere without any context.

In this case the wxWidgets fork has existed for a very-very long time and has nothing to do with the acquisition.

Lots of non-technical fud.

It's actually really funny because you get to see how poor everyone's technical literacy is. They pretend to be ,very, smart. But then claim a bash script part of the build is selling your soul to Russia or something.

Then this is what they should be focusing on. Although, for example, to clean up excessive modals with a lonely OK button that annoy you after every operation, you don’t need to fork wxWidgets, and you need exactly zero telemetry to know it’s annoying.

Audacity was already using its own wxWidgets fork before the acquisition.
