I'm an average joe-schmoe programmer. Lately I've been wondering if there are any resources out there for people in tech to help solve meaningful, important problems that the world faces (eg. help find a cure for Cancer, fight climate change, etc.)
I discovered https://80000hours.org/ which seems to have a lot of resources, but seems more geared around picking a career to make an impact. I am happy with my career for the most part, but I would like to use my downtime to try and make a difference.
Coders seek companies that pay very well and or have a bright future without giving much thought about that company's product or how it's impacting the world. We need people like you that want to make a difference to improve the world with your coding skills.
