It says it only runs on Windows and Mac?... The top 2 platforms which run docker horribly...

I would urge you to compare this to Docker Desktop - https://www.docker.com/products/docker-desktop

> Docker Desktop is an application for MacOS and Windows machines for the building and sharing of containerized applications and microservices.

The "desktop" part of each refers to "systems other than linux."

You can run rancher on a linux machine just as you can run docker on a linux machine - without the "desktop" part of it. As I understand it, the "desktop" nature of it is the glue between running a virtual machine on a non-linux system and the underlying virtual magic.

What is horrible about Docker on a Mac? I've never had a problem with it, and use it regularly as my daily driver OS for development of apps that get deployed as containers.

Not GP, but for me performance is absolutely abysmal compared to just using podman in opensuse microos virtual machine (what I'm using now instead of docker).
