Recovery Trial: Randomised Evaluation of Covid-19 Therapy (wikipedia.org)

With so much misinformation on COVID19 floating around, I feel the need to post correct-information for once.

There's a lot of good science going on in the COVID19 world. The RECOVERY Trial, conducted through 2020, discovered treatments that cut the death-rate in half or even more.

The status-quo for COVID19 treatment was established because of this trial. It was this trial that established the efficacy of Dexamethasone + REGN-COV2 monoclonal antibodies.

Science doesn't stand still. There are additional trials ongoing and continuing to try to find even better treatments for COVID19. Some of it is snake oil, some of it not. But we can at least look to the established work from 2020 and see how-and-why the current treatments are the way that they are.
