Can we have a Christmas lights in HackerNew bar?

It's feel lonely for some of us staying at home, at least make us feel home in HackerNews?

Hard disagree. Christmas is everywhere. Try and avoid it some year and you'll notice it's impossible.

Hard disagree, no one uses the term "Chirstmas" anymore. We have Ramadan, we have Divali but just "Holidays" instead of Christmas. You won't find any major brand or TV station using the term Christmas.

i don't know where you get your information from, but more people still use the term "Christmas" than people who even know about some of the other Holidays.

Remember when the Internet was fun and less serious, and stuff like this happened on major websites?

On Christmas the story number colors change!

Yes, they alternate red and green!

edit: Here's an example in an archive.org snapshot,

While we're at it, let's just change the mouse cursor to be Christmas-themed. i.e. https://www.cursors-4u.com/cursor/2011/12/25/tiny-christmas-...

A bunch more at https://www.cursors-4u.com/christmas/

For the animation, you need to use IE.

FWIW, I think changing the number colors on Christmas day is sufficient. I like HN's minimalist aesthetic

Why does it have to be Christmas and not Festivus? We can start airing our grievances here.

Start?

It would be nice to have a Christmas theme for HN!

I think we should have Krampus horns instead.

We want some JavaScript snow!

I will put another log in the fire, what do you see when you look outside?

how gdpr-compliant of you

And winter-compliant also...

Oak inside. Dark and soaked muddy leaves outside. Jumping under the gelid rains hammer. Yup, we have a very nice weather today in resume. Light gray and yellow.

you can write a userscript that does this and distribute that.
