Standing for long periods of time negatively affects your blood circulation and may cause varicosis. Not that sitting eight hours a day is healtier, but its one hidden risk of standing that you should know.


Yeah, both my mother and my father are biologists who do a lot of laboratory work. They, along with chemist friend have told me that one typical health issue in laboratories is circulation problems due to extended standing periods.

That's why I approached the half and half idea of standing/sitting for my work :)
