Rockbox and a Sansa Fuze were all I needed for a long time. Great project.

Indeed. Thanks to the project creators and maintainers. I still use the one remaining working Sansa Clip+ I have.

I know smartphones have mostly filled this space now, but I personally hate touchscreen interfaces. I could operate the clip+ without having to look at it. I also don't care about glossy colour screens, its a listening device.

Haven't found any suitable upgrades, and newer equivalents from Sandisk are mostly steps backwards aside from storage size increases.

Me too.. Rockbox on Sansa Clip+ and on an Ipod 5th gen , what I most like with Rockbox is the speech synth on menus.

The Sansa Clip is the Toyota Corolla of music players. Pragmatic perfection.

This was great in its day but has slowed down a lot for obvious reasons.

I still miss the playlist-oriented interface from flashing this to my mother's old player growing up

I wish there was something like this available for old iPhones!
